Your Jewellery Warranty

Warranty Period

Your jewellery is protected by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. During this period, I will repair any manufacturing faults free of charge, provided the piece has been worn and cared for appropriately.

Each piece is handmade, so small signs of hand-finishing are part of the character of the jewellery rather than faults. Natural stones may also vary slightly in colour, tone, markings and inclusions, which is part of what makes each piece unique.

This warranty is in addition to your usual consumer rights and does not affect your statutory rights.

How to Make a Claim

If you need to make a warranty claim, please email hello@rachelstrange.com before sending anything back.

Please include:

  • Your proof of purchase or order details

  • A short description of the issue

  • Clear photos of the affected area

  • Any relevant details about how and when the issue happened

In some cases, I may need to inspect the piece in person before confirming whether the repair is covered by the warranty. Please do not post jewellery back without contacting me first, so I can advise on the safest way to return it.

What Is Covered

Your 12-month warranty covers faults caused by the making of the piece, including:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Faults with clasps, chains, links or solder joins caused by craftsmanship

  • Stones becoming loose because of a setting fault

  • Structural issues caused by the way the piece was made

If the issue is covered by the warranty, I will repair the piece free of charge where possible. If an exact replacement part, stone or chain is no longer available, I will discuss the closest suitable alternative with you before carrying out the repair.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover damage caused by wear and tear, accidents or improper care. This includes:

  • Scratches, dents, knocks, bends or misshaping from normal wear

  • Tarnishing, fading, oxidisation or changes in surface finish over time

  • Damage caused by chemicals, perfumes, lotions, cleaning products, chlorine or salt water

  • Damage caused by wearing jewellery while sleeping, exercising, swimming, showering, gardening or doing manual work

  • Chains or clasps broken by pulling, catching or accidental force

  • Stones lost or damaged because the jewellery has been knocked, dropped, caught or worn during unsuitable activity

  • Loss, theft or accidental damage

  • Damage caused by incorrect storage

  • Alterations, resizing, cleaning or repairs carried out by a third party

Some stones and materials are more delicate than others. Softer gemstones, pearls and certain settings may need extra care, and I will always advise you where this applies to your piece.

After the 12-Month Warranty Period

If you have an issue with your jewellery after the 12-month warranty period, please still get in touch. I want my pieces to be worn and loved for as long as possible, and I will always do my best to help.

Repairs outside the warranty period may be chargeable, depending on the work required. This may include the cost of replacement stones, chain, findings, materials, postage and any additional making time needed.

Examples of aftercare and repair services may include:

  • Cleaning and polishing

  • Replacing a chain or clasp

  • Tightening or checking stone settings

  • Replacing a lost stone where possible

  • Repairing accidental damage

  • Refreshing the finish of a piece

I will always confirm any cost before carrying out the work.

Care and Maintenance

Jewellery is delicate and should be treated with care. To help keep your piece in the best condition, avoid wearing it while sleeping, swimming, showering, exercising, gardening or using cleaning products. Store it safely when not being worn, ideally in a box or pouch, and keep it away from moisture, perfumes and chemicals.

I recommend checking your jewellery regularly, especially rings and stone settings. If you notice a stone moving, a clasp loosening or anything that does not feel right, please stop wearing the piece and contact me as soon as possible. Continuing to wear a damaged or loose piece may make the problem worse.

Quality Guarantee

Each piece is handmade with care and attention to detail, using genuine stones and carefully sourced materials. If you have any questions about your jewellery, or if you would like to arrange cleaning, maintenance or repair, please email hello@rachelstrange.com.
